CASE STUDY:

Iris Software Group - Leadership Programme

Discovery

This large-scale management and leadership training programme for a geographically diverse technology company, was commissioned to upskill Middle Managers and Senior Leaders across the organisation and to support better performance, increased employee engagement levels and talent development.

Verosa worked closely with our client partners to conduct an in-depth needs analysis across the business, identifying skills, knowledge and behavioural gaps and challenges.

Design

Our facilitators developed a comprehensive organisation-wide in-house leadership development programme. We designed a modular, blended learning experience, based around the delivery of four, face to face classroom training days and supporting online coursework.

We delivered a pilot programme at three levels across the business:

  1. A bespoke C-Suite leadership programme for the Executive Committee (board level) members
  2. A Senior Leadership Programme for Director, VP and Business Function leaders.
  3. A Foundation Management Programme for Team Leaders, Junior Management and Graduate Recruits.

The programmes were piloted across the business and reviewed by participants, managers and business partners before the final training modules went live across the business.

We chose Verosa following a rigorous selection process. We were impressed by the company and its targeted and flexible offering, as well as the intelligent, fresh style and approach of its team.

Delivery

Two senior Verosa trainers facilitated the live training. The content was based on well-supported management and leadership theory and models, from the traditional and well-known to the latest, more cutting-edge thinking. The programme delivery style combined theoretical input with dynamic, fresh and engaging practical exercises.

Participants worked alone on reflective exercises, and in pairs or syndicate groups for discussion and practical exercises and were supported by online offerings: Verosa’s online resource library (webinars, videos, Podcasts, links to articles, blogs and bibliography); Worksheet Exercises; Virtual Action Learning Sets and Peer Support Networks. Participants also had access to 1:1 coaching sessions with the Verosa facilitators.

Impact Assessment

Ahead of the live programmes, Verosa facilitated focus-groups to collect qualitative and quantitative data on where managers of managers across the business observed training and skills gaps.

Self-assessment surveys were conducted with all participants prior to the programmes, and immediately following each module facilitators collated first level response feedback.

6-Month impact surveys were later carried out across the business and showed:

  • 100% of participants reported an increase in their confidence and ability to fulfil their line management role after the Verosa training programme
  • 94% of managers sponsoring participants reported improved ability in their participants to fulfil their line management role after the Verosa training programme
  • 91% of participants reported improvements in their ability to set goals for their teams.
  • 96% of participants reported an increased ability to provide constructive feedback
  • 100% would recommend the programme to a colleague
  • 89% used learning from the course in their day to day role 6 months after the programme.
